When You Want To Toss Your Business
Out The Window...

We’ve said it once and we’ll continue to say it: being an entrepreneur is HARD.

There are days when you feel as though you’ve conquered the biggest mountain and then there are the other days. The days where you are continuously wondering why you ventured down this path and why you continue to put yourself through these challenges.

You feel as though you want to toss it aside and head back to the corporate world where it’s “easier”. Where you know where your next paycheque is coming from and that you can coast, following the direction of others.

These feelings are VALID and we know them all too well. We also go through the ups and downs of the love-hate relationship with being a business owner – we aren’t immune to that. Many entrepreneurs will only show you the successful side of the journey or flaunt their lavish lifestyle. But for most of us, it isn’t quite that glamourous – or at least, not yet.

As this is being written, we are currently on our way up out of one of our deeper “slumps”, completely re-evaluating our business, clients, service offerings, and what we truly want from this business.

It’s scary as shit.

We’ve worked hard for 4.5 years at building this business but that doesn’t mean it gets any easier. While we get better at resolving / addressing certain issues, new ones will continue to present themselves, as they always will. There are definitely hours, days, weeks, or even months, when it doesn’t seem worth it.

But you know what?

It is.

Eventually, usually at your breaking point, something will happen to give you that AHA! moment, leaving you questioning why you ever doubted yourself. For us, having a business bestie who truly understands these same struggles, and who you can bounce your raw thoughts and feelings off of, is a lifesaver. This, coupled with the realization that most employers would probably not prefer how flexible we require our schedule to be (toddlers, appointments, #AllTheThings) re-solidified we’re where we need to be. When those breaking points present themselves, that’s when the entrepreneur in you is defined: you’ll either give in and quit, or you’ll give it the middle finger and come out stronger on the other side.

We are meant to be doing this and yes it can be extremely difficult and lonely, but it will be worth it in the long run. Always remember that you are not in this alone – we’ve got you (virtually, of course). If you’re stuck in a rut and want some help finding your way out, reach out and we are MORE than happy to help. We wouldn’t have found our way out had it not been for some of our virtual besties.
